Buyers Say:

good support

uncomfortable ladder steps

The Country Pine and Matte Black Bunk Bed by Powell combines country styling and functional sleeping space into one efficient and attractive-looking package. The bed can be split into two separate bunks, which is a solution preferred by many parents whose children are still too young to be trusted with climbing on the top bunk; later on, as they have grown a little, the bunks can be stacked one on top another for the kids to enjoy the full benefits of owning/sleeping on a bunk bed.

This twin over twin bunk bed has been designed and engineered with safety in mind; it features thick solid pine posts, heavy gauge metal tubing, full length guardrails, and sturdy welded metal slat system for mattress support -- the mere fact that the top bunk is certified by manufacturer to support no less than 300 pounds should put your mind at ease.

The user feedback on this product is by and large positive. The bed is deemed very sturdy, well made and durable, without exceptions. Reviewers are also quite happy with its appearance -- singled out a couple of times is the soft feel of the matte black finish, although some users do say it tends to rub off for a while.

One thing the buyers are not happy about, however, is the ladder: the steps (rungs) are tubular and reportedly very hard and uncomfortable on bare or stocking feet. In all fairness, we should say that it has also been reported that most kids don't care about or even notice that. This could still be considered a semi-serious issue, but, fortunately, one user has found a simple enough solution: putting some pipe insulation on the rungs, which will make them soft and cushy.
