If you are searching for a compact and functional sleep/study solution for a single child and your offspring is into music -- plays an instrument, is in a band, that sort of "into music" thing -- then you couldn't have stopped at a better place. The Rock and Roll Metal Loft Bed is another one of Powell's unique designs that will thrill your music loving son or daughter and make you a hero for finding it.

The full size loft bed will comfortably accommodate a fully grown teenager and can be accessed by two ladders built into the headboard and footboard of the structure; an innovative solution that not only allows for a quick access to the sleeping area from both sides of the bed, but also rids this configuration of the annoying ladder-always-in-the-way issue. The metal mesh side rails serve two purposes: the first is to provide safety for the sleeper so that he/she doesn't roll off the bed; the second purpose is to look great and add to the already substantial cool factor of the product. The desk surface underneath the loft is quite spacious and will do great for housing a computer or doing homework. The textured black box in the corner, lined with silver and chrome, only looks like a speaker/amplifier; this is in fact a storage cabinet and can be mounted on either side of the loft bed -- see images in the column to the right (click to enlarge). The bed is made of heavy gauge tubular steel frames and, although no user feedback is available yet, there's no reason to doubt its sturdiness -- if other metal loft beds from Powell are anything to go by. There's also no information on the manufacturer's web site as to how much weight can the loft bed withstand, however, most of Powell's metal beds are certified to handle up to 300 lbs and it is probably the same here.
